This is a tutorial about how to model an involute gear in solidworks. Steps can be followed in other 3D cad softwares. How to model involute gear in Solidworks? How to create Spur and Helical Gears in SOLIDWORKS. By Jeremy Regnerus July 24, 2014. In that second post, I show how to generate Gear and Path Mates in SOLIDWORKS. Tutorial: How to model involute gears in Solid. Works and show design intent. Planetary Gear Solidworks ModelStep 1. 1) Make a sketch with a circle on the front plane. This represents the pitch circle that defines the centre of the tooth in radial direction. I chose a Pitch diameter, P=7. Step 2. 2) The module, m, expresses the size of the teeth and thus also the total number of teeth and the overall size of the gear wheel. The lines meet in the first point on the involute curve. Step 4. 4) Draw another construction line through this point at an angle of 2. This angle is called the pressure angle and 2. Step 5. 5) Draw a perpendicular construction line to the pressure angle line through the centre. Step 6. 6) Draw a construction circle through the centre and the point found in the previous step. This circle is the base circle for the involute. As you may know, an involute is the curve described by the end of a string wound around a cylinder. If you change the sketch, this measurement will update to a new value. Step 8. 8) I hide the sketch relations in this step to remove clutter from the images. Step 9. 9) I will now construct the . Draw a centerpoint arc as indicated. Step 1. 01. 0) Dimension it to a nice round number, e. This has to be an ARC DIMENSION. You click the two endpoints AND the arc itself, and the resulting dimension has a little arc over the number, showing that the dimension is measured through the arc instead of linearly. Step 1. 11. 1) Now draw the radius and tangent through this new end point and dimension it.
Step 1. 21. 2) Press = when the dimension modify box is open to define an equation. Step 1. 31. 3) Click the dimension for the first part of the string (length 1. This enters the value into the equation automatically. Step 1. 41. 4) Click +Step 1. Click the dimension of the . The endpoint is another point on the involute; and by changing the value of the arc, you can get ALL POINTS on the top half of the involute through this . Step 1. 81. 8) This time you subtract the arc length from the original value. You can also draw a point offset the initial value (1. Step 1. 91. 9) You can now draw the involute IN A NEW SKATCH using the constructed points. Step 2. 02. 0) Use the spline tool to draw a spline through the 3 or 4 constructed points. Step 2. 12. 1) Press ESC to end. Step 2. 22. 2) Draw a construction line that represents the centre of the gear cog. You can do the calculations by punching in the numbers directly into the . The diameter is defined by P+2*m = 7. Step 2. 52. 5) When you look closely, you see that the involute is a tiny bit too short to reach the outer contour. This needs to be fixed. Step 2. 62. 6) Go back to the first sketch and right- click it to edit. Increase the length of the arc from 5 mm to say 5. Due to the parametric nature of the software, everything updates without you having to do anything else. Step 2. 72. 7) Return to the present sketch and verify that the involutes now extend beyond the outer diameter. Step 2. 82. 8) Use Power trim to cut off excess parts of the involutes. Step 2. 92. 9) We need to add a small clearance for the teeth inside the involute diameter. Extend the tooth downwards with lines parallel to the normal construction line. Step 3. 03. 0) I chose a . Step 3. 13. 1) Mirror the profile. Step 3. 23. 2) Draw the base (inner) circle. Step 3. 33. 3) We are now ready to extrude the gear. Make a new sketch on the front plane . I chose a 1. 2 mm wide gear wheel. Step 3. 73. 7) Make a new sketch on the front plane, choose . Specify 3. 8 instances, equal spacing over 3. OK. Step 4. 34. 3) The gear wheel is almost complete. Step 4. 44. 4) Cut away the centre with a 5. Step 4. 54. 5) And . This gives an assembly with the gear wheel at the origin. Step 4. 94. 9) Ctrl- drag a second copy of the gear wheel into the main window. Step 5. 05. 0) Choose . Right- click on the first gear wheel (the one with that has (f) in front of its name) and choose . Mate the temporary axis to the assembly top plane . Now both gear wheels can rotate independently but they stay centered. Step 5. 95. 9) Go to a front view and zoom into the teeth that mesh. Step 6. 06. 0) We need to cheat a little bit to make the next step work, because the gears are too perfect and are always touching. Step 6. 16. 1) Right- click on the distance mate and change it by a small amount . This gives a little slack that. You can go backwards and forwards. This is SO COOL : -)Step 6. We. We have designed involute gears and verified that they actually work according to design intent.

Materials. Embossing I used my Sizzix machine to emboss the paper (create a raised image, without using heat), which turns out lovely but it used a lot of extra paper and time. I. Creating the Pocketfolds. Cut your paper as shown below (made to scale). Save your scraps, too, you will use them to make the second . Fold up the pocket and glue the edge. Take your spare edge, glue both sides, and use it on the other side of the pocket. Creating the Inserts. I used two types of inserts; for most of my guests, I sent invitations that only had three inserts in them and directed them to RSVP online. A few received invitations that had RSVP card and envelopes in them. The following are the measurements I used.
A simple rule of thumb is to make the inserts just a little smaller than the pocket . I also printed the inserts with . A) Without a mail- in RSVP card. B) With a mail- in RSVP card. Custom Wedding Pocket Folds.A tip for your RSVPs. These measurements are a guide, but you will need to cut even thinner than this to make them fit cleanly in the envelope. InviteSite offers pocket wedding programs perfect for your wedding. Use 4 BAR envelopes (3 5/8 x 5 1/8) for these. After cutting your inserts, glue the main invitation piece in the middle of your pocketfold. I recommend a glue stick for the middle and light tacky paper glue around the edges for a secure look that's not bumpy from the glue. Extras. Simple things like these can all add a nice elegant touch without going over budget. Making rounded corners. Adding a ribbon around it, tying it off with a bow or a gold sticker or circle (for a flatter and cheaper alternative for postage reasons)Coloring the edges of the inserts with stamp ink. Heat embossing and nice stamped image. Creating a map on the back of your directions card. A quick guide to Heat Embossing: You need pigment ink- -this is because pigment ink stamp pads are slow drying. There are many methods to embossing, but for a quick and easy heat emboss, use your stamp with the pigment ink and after it's stamped on the paper, cover the stamped image in an embossing powder. You can get a cheap little canister at Jo- Ann's for $3. Dump off the excess embossing powder. Often you'll find bits of powder sticking to the paper. A nice water color paint brush (you know, the cheap kind). Then you use an embossing heat tool and wait until it melts and gets shiny and run it all along the stamp so it all gets shiny and melted. I picked my heat tool up at Jo- Ann for about $2. Once it starts, it goes pretty quick; don't hover over it too long once it's melted because you'll start to warp the paper! Tip. Black pigment ink occasionally showed through my gold embossing powder. That way if the embossing powder didn't completely cover the image, you couldn't tell at all because the ink itself was gold too! Final Thoughts. Here is my finished product; however, I changed the bows to just wrapping the ribbon around the whole thing and closing it off with a gold circle. Little did I know that envelopes can be too thick for regular postage! With 8. 0 lb paper for the pocketfolds and 6. I was just under the one ounce limit for regular postage; the mail- in RSVP invitations did require extra postage, but choosing different paper can make a difference. Patti labelle - Free Download. Cannon Fodder is NOT abandonware, runs on DOS and can be played in single player mode. Cannon Fodder is a game with attitude. It takes war, adds some twisted humor, and the result is a phrase that is probably known to all – 'War has never been so much fun!' But don't think this game promotes war; it actually. Cannon Fodder is the only CD32 game to support the FMV module. Original Manual: Gee Penn. Archimedes Editing: Steve Sumner. This book is crap on its own. SWIG is compatible with most recent Python versions including Python 3.0 and Python 2.6. To do this, you use the %template directive. For example: %module. Java swing tutorial contains programming tutorials for various components illustrated with different swing examples. Beans IDE for more information. If you download an individual example, take care to have all the necessary files in the proper hierarchy when you compile and run it. All of the examples in the Swing tutorial are placed in a package. For example, the components examples are placed in a components package. See the following image for the complete structure. Note that any examples using images expect their image files to be in a directory named images that is in the same directory as the example's src files. Here is a typical setup: You can find out which files each example needs by consulting the following table or by looking at the comments at the beginning of each source file. Example. Zip File(contains all files necessary for the example plus Net. Beans IDE project metadata)Source Files(first file has the main method, except for examples that run only as applets)Image and Other Files.
SWIG basics - Open. Sim Documentation - If you develop a new piece of functionality, using the Open. Sim API to build a new model component (e. To make a component available in Java, Open. Sim uses a third party tool SWIG (Simple Wrapper Interface Generator www. As of now Open. Sim 3. SWIG 2. 0. 9. In a nutshell, SWIG parses the . C++ classes and creates Java classes that map 1- 1 to corresponding C++ classes (with few exceptions e. You have to have both SWIG and Java installed, make sure CMake can locate SWIG and Java, if not point it to the correct location. This will produce additional projects: Java. Wrap: a project that runs SWIG and update Java wrapping. Libraries - osim. Java. JNI: a project that builds a dll/so that includes all C++ methods exposed to Java. Simplified Wrapper Interface Generator. The interface file includes the std. Simplified Wrapper Interface Generator (SWIG) 2.1. SAXPY in SWIG Example. Tests - test. Context: a test case that loads the library created in b. These files are included as is in the C++ file used as a glue code between the Java classes and the corresponding C++ classes. Use C++ include syntax as in the line (#include < Open. Sim/Simulation/Model/My. Custom. Probe. h> ). This line is what tells SWIG to wrap the class My. Custom. Probe and generate a corresponding Java class for it. The order in which the second line (in b.) appears in the interface file is important since the lines in this block are processed in sequential order. Insert the header line above after all base classes of My. Custom. Probe have been included otherwise SWIG will not be able to build the class hierarchy correctly. C++ specific syntax that. Operators in C++ are also not supported in Java so you can either decorate the header file with #ifndef SWIG, use other mechanism, or just ignore the warnings. Build the project Java. Wrap that will run SWIG and generate the necessary glue code (some warnings may come up we're working on cleaning it up)Build project osim. Java. JNI to compile the glue code, this should compile and link cleanly. Run the test case test. Context and make sure it passes. Nested classes are not supported in the interface: Passing in/out instances of nested classes is not supported. Operators are not supported by target languages as such if functionality needs to be exposed it has to be delivered as a function. Methods that return a modifiable reference (e. So, if you need to instantiate a template with a new class and have that available on the scripting side, more work needs to be done in the interface file. Memory management: C++ is flexible in allowing new/delete. Scripting languages do garbage collection so if object ownership is transferred by a function call, this has to be annotated explicitly in the interface file. Exceptions need to be thought out and not thrown in random spots in the code as they need to be captured and messages communicated to users. |
